The 2024-2025 Season is off to a Strong Start

Western has started off strong this season!  Here are some highlights and updates on what makes Western such a special place to play youth hockey:

Midgets (16u) – This is our group of oldest athletes who have gone onto continue their winning ways this season even after being promoted up the Tier 2 level. As the youngest team in their division, they held their own playing mostly second year teams. The entire team has now started their high school season all contributing to our local teams. We are excited to welcome most of this group back next year as they continue their efforts to capture a USA Hockey National Championship for Western.

Mites (8u) – We can’t say enough about this group of young skaters. Most of them bravely stepped on the ice at the beginning of the year for their first season of organized hockey. It truly is amazing what they have accomplished over the past few months as they are now a team competing in and winning many of their games. As a young group most will return and promise to hold up the strong tradition of Western Hockey as they move forward.

Squirts (10u) - Our Squirts started the season very strong and continue to find themselves in a very favorable position across the state at their level. They brought home a 2nd place finish from Jay Peak’s Avalanche Tournament in December and are building strong team chemistry on their quest to a state title.

Pee-Wee (12u) – This group of mostly first year Pee-Wee players accepted the challenge of playing a high-quality A level schedule and have risen to the occasion. They are holding their own and are starting to build momentum and gel at the right time of the season. The experience gained from this year will serve our players well moving into playoffs and next season when we continue to build upon the hard work and skills that have been established.

Bantams (14u) – With an older group many of whom have skated with Western since they were Mites continued where we left off at that top of the CHC rankings last year. They have consistently held ranking within the Top 8 teams in the state at a Tier 3 level and have beaten a few Tier 2 and AA programs along the way. They move into the playoff hunt positioned nicely as they seek to gain a spot at the USA Hockey New England Regional Championships.

We look forward to a strong finish to this season and so much positive momentum as our organization continues to grow and prepare for the 2025-2026 season.
